Anne is Not Dead (Sample) by Craig Yeung September 12th, 2010 - Ian Struckhoff While this story may be one of the shortest in Black Label Comics #1, I think it's also one of the most important. For one thing, there's the incredible art team. Artist Craig Yeung has been the inker on major books including Marvel's S.W.O.R.D and The Mighty Avengers and DC's Superman/Batman, among many others. His story for us is part of a push towards doing more pencilling. Even better, he is joined by Juri Hayasaka, the regular colorist on The Deathlings: Anne's Story. This short story takes place a few issues into The Deathlings: Anne's Story. It shows Sara (Anne's best friend) having a dream that is at the same time very similar to, and very different from, the one Anne's has in our preview for Issue #1. This is only the first part of the first page. With such a short comic, I want to make sure I don't give everything away. However, if you can't wait to pick up a copy of Black Label Comics #1, the good news is that backers of our Kickstarter project can see the entire comic! Ani (Pin-up) by Nikki Cook September 12th, 2010 - Ian Struckhoff Black Label Comics #1 includes a whopping 48 pages of stories, plus four pages of stunning pin-ups by some of my favorite comics artists. It includes work by contributors to our comics, but also from some amazing professional comics stars. One of the first of these that I got my hands on was this gorgeous take on Ani from The Deathlings, by none other than Nikki Cook-- from the Act-I-Vate webcomics collective, DC/Vertigo's DMZ, Marvel's Girl Comics, and the upcoming Memoir. Tin-Plated Heart (Complete Comic) by Francesca Da Sacco September 12th, 2010 - Ian Struckhoff While working on The Deathlings: Anne's Story, I have been lucky enough to meet a number of members of Michela Da Sacco and Manuela Soriani's studio group, EdenStudio.
